Joshua Tree National Park

I have been to the Palm Springs area a few times and have never taken the time to really explore the desert. Joshua Tree park straddles the Mojave and Sonora deserts and is a breathtaking collection of high-desert scenery. Of course, the day I went, it was about 50 degrees and the wind was blowing about 40-50 MPH! I had a jacket, but no gloves or hat. Man it was cold!

This is a Joshua tree... Not real pretty.

Several Joshua trees

Pretty desolate, but very pretty.

Cactus garden... watch your step!

Stone arch

Lotsa cool rock formations to climb around on.

Just don't knock the big ones loose!

Old gold mining ruins
And their vehicles...

Nice view.

Another old ruin.
