Bike Week

Another quick trip to Daytona to take part in Bike Week. I've been to almost every Bike Week since 1986. The crowds are bigger than ever and the traffic is almost unbearable. Fortunately the ride down and back was great. Perfect weather and a nice view of the ocean along much of A1A.
Beth is ready to roll.
The trusty steed.
Downtown Daytona Beach.
Bryce enjoys the scenery.
Empty beer + sweat + bald head = New headgear!
A really nice custom by Roland Sands.
Checking in with Caryn to see how the animals are behaving.

A taste of winter

Had a quick trip to Washington D.C. this week to cover a press conference announcing a new PGA TOUR event with Tiger Woods as the host. It was a whirlwind trip and we went from the press conference over to the Capitol so Tiger and the commissioner could meet with members of the Senate Majority and the Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. After that was a reception ate the American Red Cross HQ which is a another great historic building. It snowed all day and gave the city a clean, pretty winter coat.
I stayed at the Four Seasons near Georgetown which was nice, but I'm glad I wasn't paying!

In case you are wondering what a $450 hotel room looks like!

The National Press Club hosted the announcement and had a bunch of cool displays like this collection of old radio broadcast microphones.
The media waits for the press conference to start.
The view from the towncar on the way to the Capitol Bldg.
The rotunda
The Red Cross building... Check out the stained glass windows!
Snow in the hotel courtyard.

Clinton comes to town

Caryn and I got a fun assignment last week... Well, it could have been fun if it weren't pouring rain! President Clinton came to Ponte Vedra to play golf at the Stadium course with Vijay. We had to wait out some lightning early, then they braved the rain and got about 9 holes in before calling it a day. They did go over to #17 and also played #18. I was totally drenched by the end of the day!

Hawaii 07

Our annual trip to Hawaii was another great visit. As always, it was a lot of work for me but the off hours are always better there!

Flying over Waikiki on the way to Kona

Sunset at the Hilton Waikaloa

I want a hula lamp for my desk.
Polynesian Idols... Not great singers, but man they could ward away evil!
We were more impressed by the turtle than he was of us...
We just lava this place! (Sorry, couldn't resist)

Waimea Bay was breaking as we arrived on the North Shore. If you've never seen waves this big in person, it's an amazing sight.
Too rough at Pipeline.

Off to Turtle Bay... Our room view.
Beth makes a new friend at the annual draw party turtle race.
We try to tell Nancy George how to use my Canon Mark II. She did just fine.
Aaron from Maui Jim is in the background

I was working so hard, Beth needed a massage.

Christmas!

What's Chrismas without a red-nosed reindeer?
Just a little excited.
What girl doesn't love an Easy-Bake oven?
Noisy toys for boys!
...And trains
Driving Miss Daisy... er, Aunt Beth
I'm getting a cat scan.
Payden with Aunt Beth
Warm puppies rule.
All worn out and ready to go home!
